Introducing Our New Quell Sketchbook: Your Creative Companion Made with Heart

Introducing Our New Quell Sketchbook: Your Creative Companion Made with Heart

If you’ve followed me on social media for a while, you probably know just how much I love my sketchbook. For the past nine years, sketchbooking has been more than just a creative outlet—it’s been a lifeline. What started as a way to cope with postpartum anxiety and reconnect with myself during a difficult season has grown into a daily ritual that grounds me, heals me, and keeps my creative fire burning.

There’s something incredibly powerful about making space each day for something that’s just for you—with no pressure for perfection. Over time, this small act of showing up to a blank page has helped build my confidence as an artist and, honestly, makes me feel like the best version of myself. When I fall out of that rhythm, I feel it—and I’m pretty sure those around me do too. Creativity is like a muscle: the more you use it, the stronger it becomes. And once you start making, you’ll find more ideas, more inspiration, and more joy waiting for you on the other side.

That’s why I’m beyond excited to finally share something we’ve been working on behind the scenes for well over a year: the brand-new Quell Sketchbook.

This sketchbook has been a true labor of love—something my husband and I have poured our hearts into, testing, tweaking, and perfecting every detail. I knew from the beginning that I wanted to design an A5 sketchbook that was artist-quality yet accessible, versatile yet beautiful, and—most importantly—portable enough to go wherever your creativity takes you. We always knew we would make a sketchbook as the perfect companion for our Quell Carrier Case, and now we're so excited that it's finally here :)

So, what makes the Quell Sketchbook so special? Here are some deets about it!

  • Hardbound and durable, it’s made to travel with you—whether that’s to your favorite coffee shop or just the couch.

  • It features 112 pages of premium, 157gsm smooth mixed media paper that’s ideal for sketching, drawing, inking, and even light washes of watercolor or gouache.

  • The lay-flat binding is a total game changer, giving you a seamless two-page spread to create without constraints.

Some of my favorite materials to use inside? Gouache paint glides beautifully on the surface without warping the pages. Pen and ink feels buttery smooth. Colored pencils layer like a dream. And Tombow markers and paint pens look so vibrant, making this paper incredibly versatile no matter your style or medium. You can learn more about all of my favorite supplies that I keep in my Quell case, and on hand over on this blog post here

These sketchbooks are artist-quality without breaking the bank—which also makes them great for kids. Our own children love keeping their sketchbooks on hand, customizing the covers with stickers or drawings, and filling the pages with their amazing, unfiltered imaginations. Watching them take pride in their sketchbooks has been one of the biggest joys of this process. One of my new favorite things to hear from them before we get ready to go anywhere is "Wait, let me grab my Quell case!" It just makes my art teacher momma heart beam with pride!

Whether you’re just getting started with a sketchbook practice or have been keeping one for years, we hope the Quell Sketchbook becomes your creative sidekick. A place for play, for reflection, for messes and masterpieces alike. I hope you love it as much as we do!

From our family to yours—happy sketching 🩷
